The Rams lost to the Dolphins 23:15 on Monday Night Football

The Rams’ opening drive of the second half was negated by a high snap and later a false start penalty that nullified Karty’s successful 52-yard field goal attempt. His 57-yard throw after the penalty was no good, missing wide to the right, making the score 10-6 for the Dolphins midway through the third quarter.

Miami capitalized on the missed field goal with a 1-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to wide receiver Tyreek Hill at the end of the ensuing series, extending its lead to 17-6 with 5:32 left in the third quarter.

A 53-yard field goal by Karty made it a one-possession game early in the fourth quarter.

On the ensuing possession, an unnecessary roughness penalty against the Rams on first down moved the Dolphins from their own 30 to their own 45. Although the Rams managed to hold the Dolphins to a 37-yard field goal attempt at the end of the drive , Miami’s lead was still 20-9 with 9:07 left in the fourth quarter.

While the Rams reached the Dolphins’ 4-yard line on the ensuing drive, they had to settle for a 22-yard field goal from Karty to cut their deficit to eight with 6:34 left in the game.

Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders hit a 50-yard field goal to extend the Dolphins’ lead to 23-12 with 2:38 left. The Rams reached the redzone on the following drive, but again had to settle for a field goal, this time from 31 yards out by Karty.

Karty’s fifth field goal made it 23:15 with 38 seconds left, but the subsequent onside kick was unsuccessful. And with Los Angeles out of timeouts, Miami was able to run out the remaining time to secure the win.
