Three people who died in a fire accident identified

DELAWARE COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – Investigators have identified three people killed in a fiery crash on Highway 20 in Earlville on October 13th.

According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, a preliminary investigation by the Iowa State Patrol revealed that a 2014 Chevy Impala, driven by 50-year-old Tijuan Devell White of Robbinsdale, Minnesota, was traveling eastbound on Highway 20 near the Earlville Interchange was traveling when the vehicle crossed the median continuing eastbound in the westbound lanes.

The Chevy collided head-on with a semi-truck, completely impacting both vehicles.

The driver of the semi-truck suffered minor injuries. All three people in the Chevy died at the scene, including White and passengers, 21-year-old Tryese Devell Johnson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and 38-year-old Augustine T. Monboe of Robbinsdale, Minnesota.

The investigation determined that White was shot before the crash. No evidence was found that the shot came from outside White’s vehicle. Since the vehicle was damaged by fire, the cause of death is still unclear.

The investigation by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, the Iowa State Patrol, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Medical Examiner is ongoing.
