Travelers to Bali, Jakarta and Surabaya get more flight options with the SIA-Garuda connection

SINGAPORE – People traveling between Singapore and three Indonesian destinations in 2025 will be able to book flights on Singapore Airlines and Garuda Indonesia in a single itinerary as part of a connection between the two airlines.

This would provide travelers with more options when traveling from Singapore to Bali, Jakarta and Surabaya from the first quarter of 2025 when the common fare products are launched.

The airlines announced the joint fare products in a joint statement on November 12, in which they also announced an upcoming increase in the number of flights between Singapore and Jakarta by both airlines.

SIA will operate eight flights to the Indonesian capital from November 22nd, up from six so far. Garuda will increase its flights between the two cities from four to six from December 1. Both airlines will expand their codeshare agreement to include these new services.

By December 1, the airlines will offer 390 weekly codeshare services, including 362 between Singapore and Indonesia. This is an increase from the current 334 services, with the move adding 56 new services.

Code sharing is an agreement between airlines to sell seats on each other’s flights.

The two airlines will also allow members of their respective frequent flyer programs to earn and redeem miles on codeshare routes, deepening their partnership with frequent flyer programs.

The airlines said they were “committed to deepening this commercial partnership to deliver greater value to customers and support tourism and business activities in Indonesia and Singapore.” The partnership refers to the joint venture between the two airlines, which received regulatory approval in Singapore in July.

“Both airlines are committed to further strengthening this important win-win relationship in the coming years,” said Goh Choon Phong, CEO of SIA.

“Our collaboration will help improve travel connectivity between Indonesia and Singapore and have a positive impact on tourism and economic activity in both countries.”

Garuda Indonesia president and CEO Irfan Setiaputra said the expansion of flights between Singapore and Jakarta is part of the airline’s efforts to respond to market demand, with “significant traffic growth” between Singapore and Indonesia over the years.
