Trump picks South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem as Homeland Security Secretary

President-elect Donald Trump is expected to select South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem to be homeland security secretary, according to multiple reports Tuesday.

Noem, who was considered a potential candidate for Trump’s candidacy earlier this year, has been governor of the Mount Rushmore State since 2019.

HERE ARE THE MOST TALKED ABOUT CANDIDATES FOR TOP JOBS IN TRUMP’S ADMINISTRATION

The Department of Homeland Security is responsible for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the U.S. Secret Service, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

If selected, Noem would work alongside Tom Homan, announced Sunday as Trump’s “border czar,” and Stephen Miller, announced Monday as deputy White House staff for policy.

It was also announced Monday evening that Trump is expected to choose Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, as his secretary of state.
