Two dead in semi-truck accident near Aurora

AURORA, Neb. (KSNB) – Two people were killed and another was injured in a crash Monday afternoon near Aurora.

Hamilton County sheriff’s deputies responded to a pickup versus semi-truck accident about two miles north of Aurora on Highway 14 around 3 p.m

Preliminary investigation revealed that the semi-truck crossed the center line and struck the pickup truck.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of the pickup and a backseat passenger were killed. Another passenger in the pickup was taken to a Grand Island hospital with injuries. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

The sheriff’s office said the names of those involved are not being released at this time.

Nebraska State Patrol troopers were also on scene and assisted with traffic control.
