Two dead in tree crash north of Allegan

ALLEGAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Two people died in a crash north of Allegan Thursday morning when 122nd Avenue was closed between 30th and 33rd streets.

It happened just after 12:30 p.m., Allegan County deputies say – the car left the road and crashed into a tree, killing both people inside.

It appears that speed and alcohol played a role in the crash and the road was closed for approximately four hours for the investigation and cleanup.

Allegan County officials have not released the names or ages of the victims as they try to notify their families about the crash.
