After scoring a late touchdown to secure a 41-27 victory over Texas Tech for No. 20 Colorado on Saturday, Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders paid homage to his father in the end zone.

As the Red Raiders attempted to score a game-winning touchdown with about a minute left in the fourth quarter, quarterback Behren Morton had the ball deflected by Colorado defender Arden Walker.

The ball was picked up by Sanders and returned to the end zone before the 24-year-old celebrated with a shuffle reminiscent of Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders during his playing days.

The safety finished with six tackles in addition to his fumble recovery.

He wasn’t the only family member to pay tribute to the touchdown dance, as Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders shared the same celebration after scoring a rushing touchdown against Nebraska during the 2023 season.

Shedeur had another impressive performance against Texas Tech, going 30 of 43 for 291 yards through the air while recording four total touchdowns without a turnover.

The Buffaloes improved to 7-2 and won their third straight game.

With No. 17 Iowa State losing 45-36 to Kansas on Saturday, Coach Prime’s team is now in control of its own destiny and secures a spot in the Big 12 title game. To do that, Colorado must continue to pile up wins, starting with a Nov. 16 game against Utah.
