Vivek Ramaswamy on Trump’s victory

Washington:

Opining that President-elect Donald Trump’s comeback is the American comeback, businessman and politician Vivek Ramaswamy said on Wednesday that the country now deserves a “tough commander in chief” and that is exactly what it got.

Trump, 78, not only won the Nov. 5 presidential election in both the popular vote and Electoral College votes, but also gave the Republican Party control of the House and Senate.

“Here’s why Donald Trump won by the largest margin of any president in modern history. He is not an ideologue. He’s not a political crackpot. He’s an American badass. They tried to punish him, imprison him and kill him (twice). None of it worked. Our self-proclaimed “betters” in the media misunderstood, underestimated and doubted him,” Ramaswamy said on Wednesday.

“But not once during this campaign has Trump misunderstood, underestimated or doubted himself. As everyone celebrated around him at Mar-a-Lago last night, I watched him unfazed, with the firm belief that he was exactly where he was supposed to be,” he said.

“In this respect, he is just like our nation. We have always believed that our obvious destiny was to be exceptional, to be the greatest nation on earth and to show the world what humanity can achieve, even when other countries doubted us.” Some still do today said Ramaswamy.

“But they are wrong. Trump’s comeback is the American comeback. Our nation deserves a tough commander in chief now, and that’s exactly what we got. “It’s funny how well our democracy actually works,” the former Republican presidential candidate said.
