Walz: Women will send Trump a ‘loud’ message on Election Day ‘whether he likes it or not’

Women will be the group that strongly opposes former President Donald Trump on Election Day, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said at his campaign’s final rally Monday night in Detroit.

“Guys, this is going to be easy: Kamala and I trust women,” Walz said. “Tomorrow, women across America, of all ages and of both parties, will send a loud, clear message to Donald Trump, whether he likes it or not.”

The comment is a reminder of Trump telling an audience in Green Bay, Wisconsin, last week that he would protect women as president, “whether women like it or not. I will protect them.” Trump acknowledged in his comment that his top employees had asked him not to describe himself as a protector because it would be “inappropriate.”

Walz’s comments also point to numerous polls showing a wide gender gap in the 2024 race: women leaning toward Harris and Walz and men leaning toward Trump and his running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance.
