Although wide receivers Wan’Dale Robinson and Malik Nabers were wide open 20 yards before the snap, quarterback Daniel Jones chose to eat the sack rather than at least attempt a deep ball, forcing the Giants to punt the ball away again .

Sure, the protection wasn’t great — especially from Jermaine Eluemunor, who moved to left tackle for the first time this season on Sunday — but Jones was must Get the ball out of there.

The Giants, who were 10-0 against the Panthers at the time, had already punted the ball twice and missed a field goal in the game. Missed opportunities like this led to an embarrassing double-digit half-time deficit at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

Notably, this was the first time the Giants were favored in a game since Week 2 of 2023, when they beat the Arizona Cardinals 31-28 as 4.5-point road favorites.

Both teams started the day 2-7.

The Giants have struggled offensively all season – especially with Jones under center – but with this dud against Sudnay, their problems seemed to be at their peak.
