No offense in the NFL has played better than the Detroit Lions over the last six weeks.

The Houston Texans didn’t get the memo, leaving the field and putting their offense in first field position.

Nickel defenseman Jalen Pitre got in the way of Lions quarterback Jared Goff by tipping his pass, which veteran safety Jimmie Ward intercepted for the opening drive.

Goff threw just 22 incompletions, including one interception, during Detroit’s six-game winning streak. He’s already thrown two incompletions and an interception after one drive.

The move is the first made this season by Ward, who returned to the lineup after a four-game layoff due to a groin injury.

Houston is 3-1 this season when Ward plays, so it makes sense why the AFC South leaders love it when No. 20 is on the field and making plays.
