Weather in Calgary: Seasonal temperatures, mixed conditions

It wasn’t a particularly scary Halloween weather-wise, and no one complained!

There was a brief period of fog over the northeast part of the city during the 5 p.m. hour, but the most noticeable weather for trick-or-treaters was a light northerly wind that made it feel like -8 p.m. by 9 p.m

Friday morning will start off cool with a wind of -13°C, but once the sun rises in the sky the city will reach a slightly below normal maximum temperature of 5°C and become cloudy throughout the afternoon.

A high low is brewing along the Pacific Coast that will impact Alberta’s weather over the weekend, with early morning rain or snow showers sweeping across the southern half of the province, including Calgary.

While the start to the morning will be slippery, temperatures above freezing will eliminate any road hazards as the day progresses.

This low will also lead to increased cloud cover over the province, with the possibility of more mixed precipitation through Sunday, but models currently appear to be in disagreement about exactly what type of unstable weather we might see and when.

As far as the conditions are concerned, there is currently a bit of a holding pattern.

However, temperatures are expected to be pleasant over the next three days.

And here’s a friendly reminder that you’ll get an extra hour on Sunday since we’re on Daylight Saving Time!

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween!
