What to know about Park Street and Marathon closures this week

Roads in Madison will be closed several times this weekend due to construction on the UW-Madison campus and the Madison Marathon.

The southbound lanes of Park Street between University Avenue and Dayton Street will be largely closed this weekend so crews can set up a crane and install a girder for a construction project on campus.

The closure lasts from Saturday 4 a.m. to Sunday 7 p.m.

Mill Street will be marked as a detour, allowing Dayton Street traffic to return to Park Street.

Teams are working on the $95 million Irving and Dorothy Levy Hall, the new home for the university’s College of Letters and Science.

There will be additional road closures throughout Sunday due to the Madison Marathon. The race is expected to last from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m
