When a Nick Diaz weed video doesn’t live up to your expectations

It’s been a minute since Nick Diaz fought, and fighters’ preparation methods are constantly evolving.

There’s no way to be sure what’s going on here, but hell – it’s Nick Diaz. Can anyone ever be sure if there is a method to the proverbial madness?

A month after his first fight in more than three years and just his third in the last decade, a shirtless man who appears to be Diaz is seen in a video on social media (H/T ParryPunch) trying to light a piece on fire Grass area in a garden in front of a shop.

In the video, a woman calls out to “Nick” and asks if he’s okay, and he replies twice that he’s okay. We’ll let you decide for yourself whether he’s right.

Diaz (26-10 MMA, 7-7 UFC) is scheduled to face Vicente Luque (22-10-1 MMA, 15-6 UFC) at UFC 310 on December 7 in Las Vegas. The first two were scheduled to fight in August, but the fight was postponed until next month.

Diaz hasn’t won a fight since October 2011 against BJ Penn at UFC 137. He then lost three fights in a row to Carlos Condit, Georges St-Pierre in a title fight and Anderson Silva, which later became a no contest when they both failed drug tests.

After a 6.5-year absence, Diaz returned in 2021 and was stopped in the third round by Robbie Lawler.

It’s been about 15 years, longer than the average MMA career, since Diaz went on an 11-fight winning streak in Strikeforce against the likes of Penn, Paul Daley, KJ Noons and Scott Smith. Along with his younger brother Nate, he remains a major draw in martial arts despite his inactivity.
