Where to get, price and everything we know so far

McDonald’s, a giant with several hundred locations across the U.S., is bringing back a popular menu item this holiday season: the Holiday Pie. The sweet treat is already available at select stores in a few states and online fans are loving it.

The McDonald’s Holiday Pie is a dessert that was first released in 1999. Since then it has been held once a year, just in time for the holidays. Similar to the iconic apple pie, its flaky, buttery pie crust shell houses a thick custard filling. Covered in icing and sprinkled with rainbow sprinkles, it adds a little holiday cheer.

Everything we know about McDonald’s’ Holiday Pie

According to the official McDonald’s website, Christmas cake contains 260 calories, slightly more than apple pie, which contains 230 calories. As for the official return date, the company has decided to keep quiet for now, so a definitive date is unclear.

Last year, the limited-time Holiday Pie hit the menu on November 15th, but the year before that it wasn’t seen until late November. It’s also unclear how much the treat, which the franchise calls “the greatest gift to yourself,” will sell for.

According to Instagram user @markie_devo, the holiday pie has already made the rounds in states like Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Arkansas and Pennsylvania. The website reveals that these will only be available at participating stores.

Fans are reacting with enthusiasm to the news of McDonald’s upcoming Christmas cake, claiming Christmas needs to come early

Since the news broke on X, fans have been more than happy. Some claimed that they weren’t that big of a fan of the franchise, but the holiday treats have their heart.

“I don’t eat at McDonald’s anymore but I want a holiday cake,” one user shared.

“Is there anything else where McDonald’s holiday cakes come from????” another questioned.

“I love the month of November because that’s when the holiday cakes come back to McDonald’s,” another said.

“It’s only November and I’m looking forward to McDonald’s Christmas cakes,” another chimed in.

The comments didn’t stop there, as fans called for people to “hurry up” somehow this Christmas.

“Christmas needs to hurry up, I miss McDonald’s Christmas cakes,” one user claimed.

“When it’s October but you really want a holiday cake from McDonald’s,” someone else shared last month.

“I didn’t get them during the holidays this year (should be gone soon), but @McDonald’s ‘Holiday Pie’ came back for another year and is still one of the best things they’ve done in a while,” explained another user earlier this year.

In addition to the Holiday Pie, McDonald’s recently discontinued the all-new Dulce de Leche Frappe and also brought back the Spicy Chicken McNuggets, but only for a limited time.
