Whitley Co. woman faces drug trafficking charges

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A woman is facing multiple fines after the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office was called to a complaint at a business parking lot.

The complaint received by the London-Laurel County 911 Communication Center reported that a woman had passed out in a vehicle there. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Lissa Bryant, 44, of Williamsburg, and discovered she appeared to be passed out with the engine on and her foot on the accelerator while the engine was revving.

Officers also found a glass pipe, Gabapentin and two clear baggies containing a clear crystal substance believed to be meth.

When officers managed to wake Bryant, they discovered she was under the influence and wanted on outstanding warrants.

She is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol (second offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (second offense, meth), first-degree possession of a controlled substance (first offense), and failure to properly administer a prescription substance container (first offense).

She was taken to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
