Who is Billy Klapper? The Real Life Legend in Yellowstone Season 5 Premiere Explained

Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 premiered on Paramount Network on Sunday and fans were surprised to see Billy Klapper in the premiere episode. Klapper appeared as himself in a scene with Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler in the series. He filmed the scene before his death in September 2024. He is one of the most renowned spur makers in the ranch and cowboy industry.

While Klapper’s appearance in this episode was a heartwarming moment, it took some time for fans to process the episode itself. Although they expected Kevin Costner’s John Dutton to disappear from the series in this episode, they didn’t expect their beloved Dutton patriarch to disappear off-screen and apparently be killed by mercenaries.
