Who is Twitch streamer and rapper Tays and when will he appear on FootAsylum’s Locked In series?

TAYS is a famous rapper and influencer from Manchester who went viral on the social media platform Twitch.

The online personality will take part in the reality series Footasylum Locked In, where he will compete against his celebrity cast mates for cash prizes.

Social media celebrity

Tays started his rap career in his bedroom, but his career took off when he started releasing his music online.

He has since written songs including Your Tings My Tings and Perfect Girl.

Social media has been an integral part of Tays’ success, as he has been able to promote his music through his Twitch channel taysmcrr.

Tays has over 60,000 followers on the video game streaming website.

The Manchester music scene

Tays is part of a new wave of rappers from Manchester, with acts such as Aitch and Bugzy Malone hitting new highs in the UK charts.

The rapper believes this success has a lot to do with the collaborative nature of the Manchester scene.

He said: “We are always together and want everyone to succeed.”

“I think that’s why [the rap scene is] grows so much.”

He added that he believes Manchester is now “on par with London” in terms of its music scene.

FootAsylum is locked up

Tays will be taking part in the fifth series of Footasylum Locked In, a show where famous influencers have to work and live together to win prizes.

He will be joined by Heather Bowling, who also lives in Manchester, and other stars including Scouse Mali and Jack Joseph.

The show started on October 30, 2024 and the housemates will be locked together for 14 days.
