Whoopi Goldberg tried to engage with viewers by saying that she’s also having a “hard time” financially and can’t afford to stop working on “The View.”

Whoopi Goldberg has said that, like many other Americans, she is struggling financially and cannot afford to stop working The view.

The 69-year-old star made the comments during Tuesday’s episode of the ABC talk show, which she first appeared on back in 2007.

The panel discussed the results of last week’s presidential election, and Sara Haines – who voted for Kamala Harris – admitted she was trying to understand why the working class voted for Donald Trump, believing he would make things better for them become.

“There were millions and millions of people who felt like they were being heard [by Trump]and that’s what I’m trying to address,” she explained.

As tensions rose between the women, Whoopi interjected, suggesting that she could sympathize with the plight of struggling Americans.

“I appreciate that people are having a hard time, me too – I work for a living!” she said. “If I had all the money in the world, I wouldn’t be here, okay? So I’m a working person, you know?”

“My child has to feed his family. My great-granddaughter has to be fed by her family. I know it’s hard out there,” Whoopi continued.

Referring to the election results, she added: “We talk to people all the time who say, ‘This is what bothers me.’ But what bothers everyone shouldn’t be what puts 85% of other people in danger. I think that’s what we’re saying.”

It’s worth noting that Whoopi’s salary is for this The view is currently unknown, Variety reported back in 2016 that her contract was valued at “$5 million to $6 million.”
