Zendaya Joins Christopher Nolan’s Next Film; Anne Hathaway is also on board

EXCLUSIVE: Christopher Nolan isn’t done adding serious star power to his next film at Universal. Sources tell Deadline that Anne Hathaway and Zendaya will star in his next event film. They would join previously announced cast members Matt Damon and Tom Holland.

The film will be released by Imax on July 17, 2026. The date coincides with a number of Nolan films that have had similar release dates in the past.

Universal did not comment on the latest casting.

Filming for the film is expected to begin in early 2025. However, sources indicate that any loglines or descriptions of the film released so far are incorrect and details are being kept under wraps.

Top talent always jumps at the opportunity to appear in a Nolan film. This would be Zendaya’s first picture for the filmmaker and the third for Hathaway, releasing in 2012 The Dark Knight rises and 2014 Interstellar.

Hathaway had a busy 2024, which included the thriller Maternal instinct alongside Jessica Chastain and Amazon Image Your idea. She will next star in Warner Bros. Flowervale Station.

Zendaya’s year started with Dune: Part Twowhich grossed more than $700 million at the global box office. This was followed by her tennis drama challenger at Amazon MGM Studios.
